The term ‘chronesthesia’ put forward by experimental psychologist and cognitive neuroscientist Endel Tulving in the 1980s refers to one’s ability to mentally travel in time. Travelling in time implies the notion of a personal historic narrative, a linear perspective of ourselves. The Epicentre builds up a pivoting point, a no man’s land, between the constructed and the immediate present, experienced through the accumulation of site-specific actualities and the perceived characteristics of the space at hand.
